Other Wet Area Waterproofing

Waterproofing being detailed around a floor drain and wall-floor junction

Have a damp area that needs attention? We investigate the source, prepare the affected surface and plan the waterproofing and finishing work. Send a short description of the space and we will help you take the next step.

Damp-prone spaces and other wet areas

An existing damp space outside the named room services

This service is for an existing moisture-exposed space not covered by the named room services. Describe the room or surface, how it is used and where moisture appears. Moisture beneath tiles can relate to water entry, a supply source, movement or an unsuitable base; the visible mark does not prove concealed membrane failure. We inspect what is accessible and explain whether further opening or another trade assessment is needed before selecting waterproofing.

Substrate preparation and the limits of a small repair

We define the repair area and assess the base, adjoining dry surfaces, penetrations and retained finishes. We propose a local repair where the existing material and junctions support it. Pool interiors use our separate pool waterproofing service; specialist commercial systems and structural repairs require their own scope. We use the relevant room service when it fits your project.

System roles for different wet-area substrates

We identify the room use, substrate, drainage and planned finish before selecting the waterproofing layers. Primer, flexible membrane, joint sealant and moisture-control coating serve different roles. We check compatible corners, collars and bond-breaking details instead of assuming every product from one brand can be mixed. The written quote defines preparation, membrane coverage and any protection or tiling included.

Damp-area preparation and the agreed membrane boundary

  1. Review the affected area and confirm access, the moisture pattern and suitability.
  2. Agree an itemised written quote covering preparation, materials, boundaries, finish and exclusions.
  3. Prepare the accessible base and carry out the agreed work, with checks appropriate to the selected system.
  4. Explain curing, return to use and care at handover. Timing follows the materials and site conditions.

Named wet areas and adjoining tiled surfaces

An appliance area may suit laundry waterproofing; a rain-exposed wall may suit external wall waterproofing.
