Tile Regrouting

Small floor tiles, grout lines and a waste opening in an Ellis site photograph
Site detail: floor tile joints and a waste opening.

Give worn tiled walls and floors a cleaner finish with fresh grout. We remove crumbling or missing material, prepare the joints and regrout the affected area, taking care around the tiles you want to keep.

Tile regrouting for walls and floors

We remove the included deteriorated grout, prepare the joints and install the agreed replacement material. The selected grout needs to suit the tile, joint and use of the space; we confirm the material and finish for the project rather than promise one product for every surface.

Grout between tiles and flexible silicone at movement junctions have different roles. For a shower, see our shower regrouting and silicone resealing service. Neither renews a failed concealed membrane; recurring leaks need their source assessed first.

Crumbling grout lines and missing grout between tiles

Regrouting is suitable for agreed joints where the surrounding tiles and base can support a joint repair. Cleaning may improve surface staining but does not replace missing material. We assess the depth and condition of deteriorated joints before agreeing removal and replacement. Loose tiles or repeated cracking can indicate movement that needs a different repair scope.

Epoxy versus cement grout and flexible junctions

We select epoxy or cement grout against the tile, joint width, exposure and cleaning requirements. Epoxy does not replace the waterproofing beneath the tiles.

North Terrace: tile joints during a shower renovation

Our May 2026 North Terrace shower renovation footage shows white wall tiles with open joints during installation. The recording follows wall-board, tiling and later finishing stages.

The recorded open joints are part of new tiling; an existing-wall regrouting quote separately defines which tiles remain and whether replacement is needed.

Cement-based and epoxy grout renewal for tiled surfaces

Textured tiles and small mosaics need particular care when checking grout colour and cleaning methods against the selected tile surface.

Corners and changes of plane may need flexible silicone rather than grout. The quote identifies those junctions separately from grout renewal.

Grout removal, joint preparation and curing

  1. Assess the accessible surface, its condition and the intended finish.
  2. Confirm preparation, material responsibility, boundaries and access in a written scope.
  3. Prepare the base and complete the agreed installation or joint renewal, coordinating connected work.
  4. Explain cleaning, curing and return to use at handover. Timing follows the selected materials and site conditions.

Your tile regrouting scope

  • The wall or floor area and grout lines included, with the adjoining tiles to remain.
  • Removal and joint preparation, plus the agreed grout type and colour.
  • Any flexible silicone junctions or tile replacements listed separately.
  • Protection, cleaning and return-to-use instructions for the materials installed.
